Education and Training Courses

Organizations implementing a trading and risk management program often find substantial value in education programs and training for key groups.

The Teknecon team members have experience both as employees of natural gas and electric utility companies and as consultants to these companies. Our experiences have convinced us that once the business decisions are in place to proceed with a portfolio management program, it is important to have organized education efforts undertaken on behalf of the Board of Directors, Executive Management, and General Management.

We offer many different courses specifically targeted for Management, Executives, and Boards of Directors. We have over 20 courses pre-developed. Also, Teknecon has experience presenting courses to foreign language audiences.

In all business operations, it is useful to set valid goals and expectations. We believe that one important result of conducting education is that it will create an opportunity to establish realistic goals and expectations for the portfolio management program.

Course development and education topics include fundamental analysis, technical analysis, basis trading, and exotic options for traders and risk managers. Teknecon has developed short courses about risk management program design and implementation for executive management and corporate Boards of Directors.

Certain courses benefit from being held in a trading environment, and appropriate facilities are available in Austin, Texas. Teknecon can arrange to conduct courses in the University of Texas' new state-of-the-art business training facility, the EDS Financial Trading and Technology Center.

Teknecon also offers more in depth courses, on topics such as Training in Transaction Deconstruction and Valuation.
